Turkey Vultures are a vital part of our ecosystem and deserve to receive medical care just as much as domesticated animals. This Turkey Vulture was brought to the BC SPCA's Wild Arc facility after it had been struck by a car. Having very few natural predators, this is not a bird we see in our care very often. This Turkey Vulture had received several injuries as a result of the accident, including several wounds on his face and beak and also some internal bleeding.

The staff at Wild Arc provided him with immediate medical care so that he could recover comfortably. It took some time before he was settled in his surroundings enough to eat and start gaining weight, but after two weeks he showed signs of great improvement.

Thanks to the Biscuit Fund and it's partnership with Wild Arc, injured wildlife will receive the medical treatment they require so that they may once again live freely in their natural environment.
